How to Protect Our Families - Talk from Church

Give me a room for 200-300 kids... no biggy!  A room full of families in church... wowzers!

Daniel & I both spoke in church today.  Our topic was How can we protect our families... I twisted it to how can we strengthen our families with the help of Emily.

This topic was inspiring especially during this week of tragic events in our nation.

I talked on 3 ideas: (there are millions of ways) *Each idea is linked to a talk by the leaders of The Chruch Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

1- T.I.M.E.

Elder Utchdorf "Of Things That Matter Most
"Since “no other success can compensate for failure”
12 here, we must place high priority on our families. We build deep and loving family relationships by doing simple things together, like family dinner and family home evening and by just having fun together. In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time. Taking time for each other is the key for harmony at home. We talk with, rather than about, each other. We learn from each other, and we appreciate our differences as well as our commonalities. We establish a divine bond with each other as we approach God together through family prayer, gospel study, and Sunday worship."

2- Build Relationships
Elder Richard G. Scott "For Peace at Home"

As you center your home on the Savior, it will naturally become a refuge not only to your own family but also to friends who live in more difficult circumstances. They will be drawn to the serenity they feel there. Welcome such friends into your home. They will blossom in that Christ-centered environment. Become friends with your children’s friends. Be a worthy example to them."

*I loved his story about a missionary who wanted to return to stay in a Christ Centered Home for a few days.

3 -Communicate!
Sister Wizom - The Words We Speak

“How we speak to our children and the words we use can encourage and uplift them and strengthen their faith to stay on the path back to Heavenly Father. They come to this earth ready to listen.”

*I love her story about Connor getting lost in the fabric store.  The sweet words "Connor if you hear my voice, say here I am."

Balloons for Baby Braden!

Words can't express my thoughts:  We lost a special baby this morning.   Ezra Braden Lundahl
My sweet step brother, Tyler and his Sweet wife, Sonja welcome Braden into this world on February 27, 2013 - he was born at just 25 1/2 weeks! He was a fighter from the beginning.  Braden is an inspiration to us!

Tyler and Sonja have been an inspiration of love, courage, strength, faith and so much more through this experience. I am so grateful to be apart of this journey!

Braden's life has touched mine in many ways over the past few months.

*pictures from Hailey, Sonja & Tyler Lundahl

We wanted to celebrate Baby Braden:

We wish we could be in Arizona to celebrate Braden, but as a family we released Balloons for Braden!

One for each of the 7 weeks he was with his earthly parents!

He was here for 7 weeks and will be in our hearts FOREVER!

So grateful that FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!
Much Love to the Lundahl Family!

(Hope she comes again very soon!)

Grandma's Girl!

My mom helped us get things more put together... still more to come.

I'm obsessed with this sign from hobby lobby! New fan to be installed soon.

Front room is coming along... in search of a new couch...
Over the weekend: Daniel, Mom, Camry, & I hung pictures, changed light fixtures, removed towel bars, and other outdated funny things... Daniel is loving "his yard"!  Its all coming together!

We have so much to be grateful for, we have been so blessed... We love this house!!

Rewind: Moving!

While looking at my camera memory card I found these:
